The Mass Action in Jakarta is a Social Dynamic

A spectacular Mass Action had happened presently in Jakarta, provoked by the speech of Ahok, the Governor of Jakarta that is accused to insult the Holy Quran, affecting the anger of a certain group of Moslem society.

The mass action of those group of Moslem society was considered as a social dynamic that should become the special attention of the government.  We tend to remind  that  though the right of  expression is Constitutionally legal but everyone should realize that the National Unity, Solidarity and Mutual Respect of the Nation  are essential for our life as a Nation.
                
Meanwhile  we likely also feel  concern that the social dynamic that happens  in Jakarta presently are potential to provoke the emergence of the similar social dynamic in other Regions as the response to what happens in Jakarta.

Definitely we feel sorry to the cause that provoked a group of the Indonesian Moslem society coming from a number of Regions and  those who are living in Jakarta  to   gigantically and dramatically conduct the Mass Action  on November 4, 2016. Those Mass Action was conducted to protest  the speech of Ahok the Governor of Jakarta in front of the public  somewhere in the island of Seribu,  sometime in September 2016, that  apparently the speech is considered insulting the Holy Quran. Ahok has apologized publicly and he said that honestly he never wished to insult the Holy Quran. However a group of angry Moslem were  demanding Ahok to be investigated legally to confirm the abuse of the freedom of speech of Ahok. Later, those group of Moslem society has been increasing their demand that Ahok should be detained and finally jailed.

The record of the development of the gigantic and dramatic Mass Action conducted on November 4, 2016 could be generally described as bellow: As described before a number of demands had been raised by a group of Moslem society that Ahok has to be legally investigated to confirm his abuse of the freedom of expression, Ahok should be detained and Ahok should be punished to be put in jail. To support their demands those group of Moslem society had planned to conduct a series of Mass Action they called The Mass Action to Save Islam.

Those group of Moslem society had launched their first social movement to be called as the First Mass Action to Save Islam conducted on November 4, 2016 and demanding Ahok to be  legally processed for punishment. Apparently those group of  Moslem Society considered there is no firm respond of the Government authority to their demand, though apparently the Police Investigator to have apparently  called Ahok and a number of Witness for investigation.

However apparently Ahok is still looked free, arrogant and vigorously makes the various public clarification to defend his speech conducted somewhere in the island of Seribu  sometime in September 2016 that he was arguing not insulting the Holy Quran. Clearly though Ahok had apologize to the Moslem society but he firmly tries to convince the people that he is not wrong. Ahok likely wants to say that he never intentionally made the insulting speech against the Holy Quran.

The tense and heat situation among the group of the angry Moslem society is increasing when apparently Ahok did not confess the mistake he had made. This group of Moslem society considered Ahok did not earnestly apologize though the Police Investigation concluded Ahok is accused to have insulted the Holy Quran.

Likely looking at Ahok attitude those group of the angry Moslem society want to conduct their Second Mass Action on November 25, 2016 and demanding Ahok to be detained. This plan was apparently cancelled without any clear explanation but a group of Moslem socierty who claimed as the National Movement to Safeguard the MUI's Declaration stating that the Holy Quran had been insulted, planned to conduct what they called as the Third Mass Action To Save Islam on December 2, 2016 to pray together requesting to God Almighty that  Ahok to be detained and finally put on jail.

The idea to conduct the Third Mass Action to Save Islam is really crucial, because it will be performed as the Friday Praying together among the Moslem society to be held on the Street of all around the Fountain in front of the Indonesian Hotel, that is popularly called the Circle of the Indonesian Hotel.

The tension among those group of the Moslem society is continuously increasing. The tense situation is commonly high when the plan to conduct the Third Mass Action on December 2, 2016 to pray together requesting to God Almighty that Ahok to be detained and finally jailed  was not welcomed  by the Police. The Police said that the Moslem Mass  Action of some days before had been detected to have been vulnerable for the infiltration  of the element of a certain Opposition Group. The Police said those element of the Opposition Group is planning to provoke the Mass Action to occupy the House of Representatives building by force and to force the House of Representative to make a decision on the resignation of the President.
 
Beside of that the implementation of the Third Mass Action that will be conducted on Friday December 2, 2016 with  praying together on along the street of all around the  fountain in front of the Indonesian Hotel, was totally rejected by the Police because it will disturb the  traffic and public transportation. As stated above the  Third Mass Action to Save Islam is willing to concentrated their Mass Action on the street at the popular site in Central Jakarta, popularly to be called as the Circle of the Indonesian Hotel.  

However later, based on the Police's arguments the organizer of the Third Mass Action to Save Islam agreed to remove the site of the Third Mass Action to Save Islam from around the Circle of Indonesian Hotel to the streets of all around the National Monument. The Police said that praying together conducted on the public facilities such boulevard, road or street are against Law, because the public traffic facility will be seriously disturbed. But because the streets of all around the National Monument are only alternate traffic facility, so it is  considered to be able to be closed temporarily.

This good cooperation was showing that though the day of the Third Moslem Mass Action to Save Islam is approaching with tense and heat situation but based on the result of the coordination the tense and heat to have changed dramatically cool. It is likely the atmosphere of unity and mutual respect have been strongly adsorbed, mainly by  those group of the Indonesian Moslem society who were respecting the Police as the Government authority in representing the Government. Those of Croup of the Indonesian Moslem society are definitely not the liar and radical masses but  they are the Indonesian Moslem society to be apparently faithful and loyal Citizens of this Country.

However the tension among the Moslem group concerns was still hanging  because the decision of the Police Investigator that Ahok would be sent as a defender in the court is not followed and completed with the Police action to detain Ahok. Ahok is still active in the campaign as one of the Candidate of the Governor of Jakarta in the Regional Election to elect the Governor of Jakarta, held in the beginning of 2017.

In the mean time when Those group of Moslem Society and the Police were busy to coordinate on the conduct of the Third Mass Action to Safe Islam on December 2, 2016 the Police Investigator has apparently completed the Document on the Protest of a group of Moslem concerning the  speech of Ahok that is considered as insulting the Holy Quran and to have handed over the Document  to the Attorney General. Ahok  was apparently under the control of the Attorney General as a free defender because the Attorney  General does not want to detain Ahok.

The development has inspired  those Group of the Moslem who will conduct its Third Mass Action to Save Islam on December 2, 2016 instantly to complete their Demand in the Third Mass Action to Save Islam namely Ahok should be detained urgently and  later Ahok should be jailed by the Court.

God bless the capital city of Jakarta and its inhabitants that the Third Mass Action to Save Islam with praying together among those Indonesian angry Moslem society on the road of all around the National Monument on Friday December 2, 2016 had  been conducted peacefully and successfully  even President Jokowi, Vice President JK and the Chief of Police Gen Tito were joining the praying. But the Successful and Peaceful  implementation of the Third Mass Action to Safe Islam on December 2, 2016  did not likely throw away  the tension and to cool down the heating situation because the demand of the Moslem group that Ahok should be detained  was rejected by the Attorney General.
 
Ahok were still free and independently wait the court session that will be conducted by as usual the Council of Judges. But the Moslem Group are likely pessimistic that the State Court will decide as the Group of Moslem society’s demand.  Accordingly the Leader of the National Movement to Safeguard MUI  Declaration, Habib Rezieg who organized the Third Mass Action to Save Islam is threatening to conduct the further Mass Action if Ahok is not detained and jailed.

Accordingly the peaceful and successful implementation of Friday Praying Together  in the frame work of the Third Mass Action to Save Islam on Friday December 2, 2016   is predicted not to throw away the tension and the heating situation among those  group of the Indonesian Moslem society who want Ahok to be arrested and finally put on jail.

On December 2, 2016 a number of Moslem Groups live in various places of the country such as in Palembang and Makasar had also conducted their Mass Action demanding Ahok to be detained, but mostly were conducted peacefully. This is an indication that the spectacular Mass Action in Jakarta has started to influence regionally to similarly conduct the Mass Action.

The story has not definitely ended. Those group of angry Indonesian Moslem society is now waiting for the implementation of the Court to judge the abuse of the freedom of Speech of Ahok. Habib Rezieg the leader of the Organizer of the Third Mass Action  to Save Islam said his group will continue to monitor  and to safeguard the implementation of the Court Session in the framework of to Save Islam. He threatens  to organize the further Mass Action if  Ahok is not detained. However It is expected that the Third Mass Action To Save Islam on December 2, 2016 that is called as the Peaceful Praying Together will strongly influence the situation in approaching the day of the implementation of the Court Session with peace and Secure.
 
Evaluation and Ideas:

The First Mass Action to Save Islam on November 4, 2016 and the Third Mass Action to Save Islam on December 2, 2016 were apparently pure social action without any political interest to have Been involved.

The Police had caught a number of political activists suspected to try to infiltrate the Mass Action and to provoke the Mass Action to execute a political movement for a certain political objectives. The Police action could be understood as the implementation of the Police’s general mission  to save the country and to include to Save those  Mass Action from any political provocation.

Realizing that the Mass Action by a group of Moslem society is purely social dynamic, the Government Policy based on social and culture approach could be likely expected to end peacefully the angry attitude of a group of Moslem society caused by the unintended   mistake done by Ahok.
     
Based on the unending Indonesian interest  The Government of Indonesia is earnestly necessary to convince those group of the angry Moslem society about the importance of the National Unity, Solidarity and Mutual respect for the Country. For that purposes the Government of Indonesia is likely necessary to stress and seriously demand all the Indonesian nation to accept whatever the decision made by the Council of Judges concerning the abuse of the Freedom of Expression of Ahok.

Fort the implementation of the Government demand  the Government of Indonesia  should likely  declare a number of points as bellow:

The Mass Action of a Group of Moslem Society conducted in Jakarta is a normal social dynamic and the Government has paid the serious attention to their demand and to implement the legal investigation to conclude the case of  Ahok  who is accused to insult the Holy Quran. The case of Ahok who is accused to insult the Holy Quran is not a religious conflict, it is not a national disintegration conflict  but  it is purely a social dynamic.

Culturally Ahok should officially apologize to all the Indonesian Moslem, because of his stupidity on Islam and language  he had said something seriously wrong from the Islamic religion and the language point view.  This expression of Ahok  should be stated  in front of the special session of the Regional House of Representatives of the Province of Jakarta.

All of the Indonesian Nation should recognize that Indonesia is a democratic country and through the respective official election the people have chosen the authorize body to lead the country, namely the Government of Indonesia which has the authority to decide the necessary step to maintain the existence of the Republic of  Indonesia.
The abuse of the freedom of expression of Ahok that is considered to insult the Holy Quran to have been processed legally by the respective Council of Judges on behalf of the State Authority, accordingly all of the Indonesian Citizen have to accept whatever the decision made by the authorized Council of Judges.

The National Unity, Solidarity and Mutual Respect are the most essential of the Indonesian Stability and Prosperity. All the threat to these highly interest of the Indonesian Nation will not be tolerated and will be crushed.
 
The Police supported by the Indonesian National Military are firmly ready to safeguard the National Unity of the Indonesian nation. May God bless the Indonesian always. This statement is intended to end the implementation of the Mass Action To Save Islam in Jakarta recently.
