London, UK (Antara Megapolitan) - Four British tourism operators are promoting Indonesia's tourism's Wonderful Indonesia branding by putting the logo on hundreds of taxis and buses in London from October to November 2016.
The Indonesian Ambassador to the UK, Rizal Sukma, said here on Monday that the tourism campaign was being run under collaboration between Visit Indonesia Tourism Office (VITO) in London and Indonesian flight carrier Garuda Indonesia. The aim is to achieve 20 million foreign tourist visits by 2019.
The tourism campaign involving four British tourism operators succeeded since flight tickets and hotel bookings from the UK to Indonesia have gone up by 438 percent.
The Indonesian government tied up with these tourism operators because they understand the customers' preferences, have a wide market network and are able to reach potential customers.
"Following this success, the government will cooperate with more tourism operators," the ambassador noted.
He disclosed that the four tourism operators which were involved in the campaign were Travelbag, Ethos Travel, Travel 2, as well as Hayes and Jarvis.
The operators provide outdoor media, digital marketing, tourism advertisement broadcasting, exhibition, and social media promotion.
Ethos Travel, for instance, promoted Indonesia's tourist sites via a special website, www.baliandbeyond.co.uk, using Google Adwords.
Although the contract with that tourism operator has ended, the website is still accessible and is being maintained. (ZG/Ant).
