Jakarta (Antara Megapolitan) - President Joko Widodo left here on Saturday for the United States of America for a state visit from October 24 to October 30.
Flanked by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, he departed from Jakarta Halim Peredanakusumah Air Force base at 17:45 hours.
He is scheduled to meet with US President Barrack Obama at the Oval Office and a number of US business leaders.
He is also scheduled to witness the signing of various business-to-business cooperation agreements between the two countries' businessmen.
On Saturday morning, President Jokowi, as he is also called, flew to his home town Solo in Central Java to attend the burial of his grandmother Sani Wirorejo who died on Friday at 22:30 hours.
He arriver in Jakarta at 13:00 and met with former president Megawati Soekarnoputri, currently the chairperson of the Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP), at the Merdeka state palace.
The head of the press, media and information bureau of the presidential office, Bey Machmudin, said the President Secretariat had not yet released the official agenda of the President.
"With regard to the distribution of the President's agenda in the US, we confirm that it did not come from the bureau of protocol of the Presidential Secretariat," he said.
"The agenda of the President in the US will be released (on a) day-to-day (basis)," he said.
