Depok, (Antara Megapolitan) - The Depok city administration in West Java fully supports the development of the creative industry to improve its economy, according to Idris Abdul Shomad, the deputy mayor of Depok.
"We fully support the development of the creative industry to improve our economy as we do not have natural resources to support the economy," Idris remarked here on Friday.
According to the deputy mayor, the creative industry in Depok has been growing rapidly, with most players in the business being energetic young people having high creativity.
Therefore, he added that the Depok city administration will offer full support to industries that have contributed 12.59 percent of the gross domestic product, or Rp1 trillion in 2014.
Idris noted that the task of the Depok city administration today is to facilitate the actors of the creative industry in improving the quality of the resulting products.
In addition, the local government, in future, will also pay greater attention to this sector by establishing more creative industrial centers to boost the economy of Depok city.
"In the future, the municipal government will create centers to display and boost the sales of products of the creative industries in Depok, with focus on generating profits," he added.
