Denpasar, Bali (Antara Megapolitan-Bogor) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo held a closed door meeting to discuss tourism with various ministers in Bali Island, to show the visitors and the world that Bali is a safe place amid Mount Agung's volcanic activity.

"Why this closed door meeting was held in Bali, because we want to show the tourists, the visitors, the world that the tourism in Bali is still safe because the impact of Mount Agung only spreads eight to ten kilometers from the apex," President said when opening the meeting at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing's Wisma Diklat at Werdhapura Sanur, Denpasar on Friday.

That is why, President said, means of the tourism places in Bali should have no problem to be used as tourism spot.

"Because lots of inaccurate Mount Agung-related news and various travel bans from various countries makes the tourism activity here shrinking," he said.

In addition, with this closed door meeting in Bali, hopefully there will no more problem regarding the safety of tourism in Bali amid the Mount Agung activities.

"This evening, Bali's Governor quoted the president that the situation backs to normal, President said.

President Joko Widodo hopes that Foreign Ministry and Tourism Ministry to keep updating the information as complete as possible to the ambassadors so that more of their people would visit Indonesia, especially Bali.

"It needs to be informed to the embassies in other countries and give precise information regarding Bali," President added. (ANT/BPJ).
