Sukabumi-Declared-Dengue-Fever-EndemicSukabumi, West Java, 14/3 (Antara) - The city of Sukabumi in West Java has been declared by the local health service as dengue fever endemic.
"Sukabumi city has again been declared dengue fever endemic because the number of sufferers continues to increase," Head of Contagious Disease Control Section of the Sukabumi Health Service, Nurlela Arsyad, said here on Thursday.
She noted that the spread of aedes aegypti-borne disease in Sukabumi continues to happen almost every month.
"Even in the past two months some 136 people have been infected with dengue fever with the higher figure is reported in Baros sub-district," Nurlela said.
She added that the local health service has conducted fogging
in selective areas of the city to eliminate mosquitoes, particularly aedes aegypti, the vector that causes dengue fever.
