Jakarta (Antara Megapolitan-Bogor) - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to attend the entire series of events at the G20 Summit, ranging from the official opening ceremony to the gala dinner with leaders of the G20 member countries on Friday.

Head of the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat Bureau Bey Machmudin noted in a press release received here, Friday, that the state leader is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with many of his counterparts.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said on Thursday evening that the president's agenda on Friday morning local time will begin with a bilateral meeting with Australia's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the Steigenberger Hotel in Hamburg.

"It will then be followed by a bilateral meeting with the Dutch prime minister at the same hotel," Marsudi added.

The president, along with his limited entourage, will then head to the Messe Und Congress Hamburg to join the official welcome ceremony of the G20 Summit.

Several state leaders, including Widodo, will be greeted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel before heading to the Leader's Retreat event themed "Fighting Terrorism."

"The first event will be the Leader's Retreat that bears the theme 'Fighting Terrorism' in which President Widodo is requested to give a keynote speech for the theme," she revealed.

The state leader will then participate in several G20 Summit meeting sessions covering different topics of discussion, including global development and trade, as well as sustainable growth, and climate and energy.

She expressed belief that the discussions during each session will proceed in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

"Maybe not all leaders can speak in each session. We will look at the situation on the field later on, whether there will be a need for interventions. The atmosphere will be very friendly," she reiterated.

Apart from his agenda to hold meetings with leaders of the world's 20 largest economies, President Widodo is also scheduled to meet Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy Brey in the Bilateral Meeting Room of the Messe Und Congress.

As the concluding event for the night, he is scheduled to attend the G20 Reception and Gala Dinner that will take place in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie. (Ant).
