Jakarta (Antara Megapolitan) - Head of Taiwan Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Indonesia, Liang-Jen Chang invites Indonesian businessmen to invest in five areas of development.

The Taiwan official delivered this invitation at the 105th commemoration of Taiwan's National Day here on Monday.

According to Chang, the five major areas of development that are currently promoted by Taiwan is biotechnology and pharmacy, national defense, sustainable energy, smart machine and internet technology.

Chang said Taiwan is applying New Southbound Policy to develop cooperation with 18 countries of ASEAN, South Asia and Australia covering economics, exchange of experts and natural resources.

Such cooperation, he continued, is built on the principle of mutual benefit in order to create an economic zone.

In addition, Chang said, the new policy also includes the ease of obtaining a visa to Taiwan, the promotion of halal food and travel for Muslims, promotion of Taiwan products abroad, increase the exchange of students and scholarships to study Chinese in Formosa island.

At the National Day celebration, TETO also holds a creative products exhibition by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and promotion of natural beauty, socio-culture, economic and innovations of the younger generation of the island through a display entitled "Lighting up, Inspiring Asia".

The naational day is a time to celebrate the 1911 Wuchang uprising, a milestone of China's politicAL development and a new chapter in the history of the Chinese which led to the collapse of the Qing Dynasty that had been established in 1644 by the Manchus.
