Cibinong, W Java (Antara Megapolitan) - The Bogor Culture and Tourism Department has opened tourism promotion offices in Japan and Malaysia to attract tourists from the two countries to the district and city of Bogor in West Java, stated an official.

"We have opened two tourism promotion offices in Japan and Malaysia in our efforts to optimize the marketing potential of tourism and to provide specific information to tourists from both countries who would like to visit Bogor," Bogor Tourism Promotion Board spokesman Zainal Syafrudin remarked here on Tuesday.

According to Syafrudin, the representative office in Malaysia is located in Kuala Lumpur and is working in coordination with the Bogor Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD).

"As of now, the representative office in Japan is being set up, and God willing, it will be officially opened on January 24," he remarked.

Speaking in connection with the representative office in Japan, Syafrudin said he had communicated the matter with the Indonesian ambassador to Japan in Tokyo.

He noted that as part of its technical operations, the Bogor tourism promotion office in Japan will be run in cooperation with the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) under the Kanto regional coordinator and will promote Bogor's tourism potential in Tokyo, Gunma, Kanagawa, Ibaraki, Chiba, Yamanashi, Saitama, and Tochigi.
