Depok (Antara) - The Depok district court on Thursday sentenced Agus Abdillah to seven years in jail for involvement in the September 2012 bomb attack in Beji, Depok City.

"The suspect is proven guilty of knowingly committing a terrorist crime," chief judge Prim Haryadi said when reading out the verdict at the district court.

The sentence was three years lower than the public prosecutor had sought.

Also on Thursday, the court tried two other suspects in the bomb attack. They were Yusuf Rizaldi and Ahmad Sofyan.

The three were indicted for violating law number 12 of 2003 on anti-terrorism and emergency law number 12 of 1951.

They faced different jail terms according to their role in the bomb attack.

The public prosecutor had earlier demanded that Yusuf be sentenced to 8 years, Agus 10 years and Ahmad 12 years in jail.

The judge gave the defendants seven days to think of appealing against the verdict.

The three were arrested after one of the crude bombs they made for a planned attack on police stations, the State Palace, a Buddhist temple and the House of Representatives (DPR) accidentally exploded on Sept. 8 last year.

However, the bomb exploded in a house on Jalan Nusantara in Depok in September 2012, leaving three people injured and one dead.
