University Of Indonesia's Professor Gets Honorary Degree From Kazakhstan

Depok, W Java, (Antara Megapolitan) - Professor of Computer Engineering of University of Indonesia (UI), Professor Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, MM, MSc., has obtained an Honorary Professor degree from Kazakh National Agrarian University.

"I am much honored to receive this title as a manifestation of cooperation within the UI academic community to improve the international reputation of UI," Sari stated here on Wednesday.

Sari, who once held the record as the youngest female professor at the UI, feels proud and happy for receiving the title of Distinguished Professor of agriculture of Kazakhstan's national university, which takes into account the result of hard work to build and spread the ideal conditions of the coveted Sustainable Campus program.

"This achievement is dedicated to all UI's citizens who are trying to realize the Sustainable Campus program. International cooperation for better campus infrastructure is the goal of the Sustainable Campus program," she pointed out.

It is expected that the program, which has been designed by Sari through the UI GreenMetric, will be able to involve universities from all over the world to take part in the preventive efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

    In the meantime, public relations officer of the University of Indonesia, Rifelly Dewi Astuti, remarked that this award was given for (UI's) work, which makes use of information technology to trigger the advancement of higher education management in the world.

    One of efforts conducted by Sari was to create the world universities ranking system based on the UI GreenMetric environmental management on campus.

    The contribution of Sari to the implementation of UI GreenMetric since 2010 has attracted the attention of university leaders worldwide.

    UI GreenMetric is UI's innovation that has been widely recognized internationally as the ranking of the world's first university-based commitment in environmental management campus.
