Ten members of The National Liberation Army of the Freedom Movement of Papua (NLA/FMP) expressed their intention to leave The National Liberation Army of The Freedom Movement of Papua (NLA/FMP) and join the Government of Indonesia.
Those ten members of NLA/FMP under the command of Teranus Enumbi escorted by The Chief of District of Puncak Jaya Henock Ibo came to the Police Headquarters of Papua, received by The Deputy Chief of Police of Papua Brigadier General of Police Rudolf Albert Roja on January 26,2016.
Melodi Wenda another leader unit of NLA/FMP is said willing also to join integrating to the Government of Indonesia, but Melodi Wenda is still being sick, not to join the group to come to The Police Headquarters of Puncak Jaya on Jnuary 26 2016.
Brigadir General of Police Rudolf Albert Roya said Teranus Enumbi and Melodi Wenda are popular name among The Police Unit in Puncak Jaya, both of them are the Special Security Guard of Commander Golliat Tabuni the Highest Command of the NLA/FMP. They are considered as the terrorists who are included as Wanted Individuals by the Security Apparatus.
In the meeting with Brigadir General of Police Rudolf Albert Roya, those ten members of NLA/FMP promised to hand over all the weapons they have to the Police if the process of the integration is running in according to the idea.
It is also reported those ten members of NLA/FMP had met Liet. General Sutiyoso, Chief of BIN in Jakarta reporting their intention for integrating to The Government, however they expecting houses for living and life peacefully.
Assesment
The Chief of District of Puncak Jaya Henock Ibo told that once the Highest Command of The National Liberation Army of The Freedom Movement of Papua (NLA/MFP), Commander Goliath Tabuni met him just for communication since they know each other. Both of them do not consider one and another as enemy they realize themselves as Papuan leaders.
Of course their relation was unique they did not try to betray each other though they stand on different principle of struggle. It happened some times in the past but Henock Ibo did not mentioned when the meeting to take place.
Henock Ibo and Goliath Tabuni took picture together as private document to prove that both of them are friendly. Henock Ibo keeps the picture and put the picture hanging on the wall of his private room.
Incidentally on January 19, 2016 two important figures of the members of Commander Goliath Tabuni, namely Teranus Enumbi and Melodi Wenda came to meet Henock Ibo also just for private visit.
Incidentally the two figures noticed the picture of Commander Golliath Tabuni and Henock Ibo together strongly indicating the existence of the good relation between Commander Golliath Tabuni and Henock Ibo.
We should realize that such kind of relations are human and culturally marked the human relation characterized the Indonesian culture.
We should not considered the good communication between Chief of District of Puncak Jaya and the separatist element as supporting action of Chief Ditrict of Puncak Jaya Henock Ibo to the separatist elements, because they are discussing the future situation and the condition of Papua.
The two Papuan leaders have chosen respectively their way to establish the better life of Papuan people. Goliat Tabuni, Teranus Enumbi and Melodi Wenda want to have better life through rebellion and Henock Ibo chooses joining the Republic of Indonesia .
After a few years apparently Henock Ibo had successfully developed Puncak Jaya while those Papuan who wish to establish the freedom of Papua realizing to achieve nothing, living in the jungle that is full with suffering. The control of the Republic Indonesia over Papua is internationally right and strong, it is impossible to push The Government of Indonesia out of Papua. Clearly Henock Ibo has chosen the correct way to live better, since the Government of the Republic of Indonesia is not bad at all.
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has not only controlled the Papua but The Government of The Republic of Indonesia has developed Papua totally. especially the economic life and al social needs of the inhabitant.
The two important figures of the members of Commander Golliath Tabuni, namely Teranus Enumbi and Melodi Wenda observing the better life of people in Puncak Jaya likely tended to realize that the objectives of the freedom movement are already presented even by The Government of Indonesia.
Leaving Puncak Jaya Teranus Enumbi and Melodi Wenda said to Henock Ibo that they will leave the National Liberation Army of The Freedom Movement of Papua and join the Republic of Indonesia.
During their meeting certainly they discuss about their struggle to develop Papua and likely Henock Ibo was successful to change the mind of his friend, Teranus Enumbi and Melodi Wenda who are using their gun to fight The Government of Indonesia, to change their attitude. The two members of NLA/FMP said they want to change his mind joining The Government of Indonesia in order to live peacefully and prosperously.
The government of Indonesia in Jakarta has allocated enough big budget to develop Papua through special system called Special Autonomy. However it indicates only very small percentage could be absorbed successfully, because of security situation.
The local leader like Henock Ibo are needed in order to convince all the Papuan who are still in the jungle to fight for the freedom of Papua to be conscious realizing that the struggle through rebellion has to be ended and joining the Government of The Republic of Indonesia to develop Papua properly started.
The ten members of NLA/MFP who decide to join the Republic of Indonesia are of course welcomed and temporarily it is important they are invited to see their country all over Indonesia which has developed and gained better life.
Conclusion
Papua is no more backward island of Indonesia. There are two rich Provinces with a number of districts supplied big enough budget to develop the infra structure for better social and economic development, so even the area of Puncak Jaya in the remote area of Papua has enjoyed success of life development.
In the mean time there is no any Liberated Area and the so called NLA/FMP influenced area because The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is continuously to develop Papua through the construction of modern infra structure to develop this island and strongly maintained the security situation of Papua.
The Government is strong enough to maintain Papua as a part of the Free Indonesian territory and seriously to develop this territory perfectly as a part of the National Development of the whole Indonesia.
A several number of armed separatist group called themselves as the National Liberation Army of the Freedom Movement of Papua are still existing but gradually they realize struggling in the jungle has no any result but suffering.
The new local leaders such as Henock Ibo the Chief of District of Puncak Jaya are expected to emerge and could make the Papuan people to be more conscious that to develop Papua through the struggle in the jungle will be useless and nothing.
Mean while the members of NLA/FMP who have been conscious and to leave NLA/FMP and joining The Republic of Indonesia would be treated in accordingly and expected to become good citizens.
The Government expects the number of members of NLA/FMP who will return home will increase and increase and it is hoped the return home of Commander Goliath Tabuni will mark the end of the separatist movement in Papua soon.
Recently, the House of Representative has been busy to discuss the Regulation for the Amnesty may be given to the former members of the insurgents of Aceh and Papua who surrender to the Government.
