The Islamic State (IS) movement has no place in Indonesia and most of Indonesia’s citizens do not want the group's presence in the country, according to a survey conducted by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC). The survey revealed that over 62 percent of 1,220 respondents were aware IS. Of that figure, over 95 percent rejected the presence of IS in Indonesia. 0.3 percent of respondents wanted to see the Islamic State movement established in Indonesia.

Up to 90 percent of the respondents aware of the group saw IS as the threat to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and the same amount disagreed with the terror group's ideology. The survey, conducted between December 10 and December 20 in all provinces, also indicated that the rejection of the Islamic group was spread evenly across gender, ethnicity, religion, region and occupation.

The survey revealed that around 63 percent of people with an elementary-level education and those who earned less than Rp 1 million ($72) a month did not know what IS was. Similarly, around 60 percent of female respondents above the age of 55, and 47 percent of respondents living in the villages, were also unaware of the group.

Meanwhile, there were indications that the supporters of IS tended to come from younger age brackets in comparison to other age groups. Around four percent of 22 s.d 25 year-olds and five percent of people who were still in school or university and who knew of IS agreed with the group's position.

These findings are in line with data released by the US-based Pew Research Center in November 2015. The data, collected from 11 countries with significant Muslim populations, including Indonesia, overwhelmingly expressed a negative view of IS. However, the SMRC survey also indicated that there were sizable groups of people who had little information on the terrorist group.

The output of survey by SMRC has informed us about the majority of Indonesian’s people has been understood about Islamic State and they had opinion Islamic State wasn’t representated Islam. Islamic State with their act’s before which beheaded innocent people in several countries showed IS is gangsters and criminals killing innocents and perverting Islam. IS attracts feeble minded people with mental disorders and is a form of slavery which profits a few despots.

Furthermore, IS certainly has no appeal for intellectual and decent people. Besides that, actually the core of ISIS is a secular. Now of course it is polluted by The Afghans Taliban, The Chechen, and surely funded by Saudi Arabia wahhabism.
From the result of SMRC survey, we must alert on fact that 0.3 percent of respondents wanted to see the Islamic State movement established in Indonesia.

Eventhough, just only 0,3 percent of respondents it’s mean there is IS supporter’s in Indonesia or 0,3 percent has represent the effort of goverment to erasing terrorism threat through deradicalization isn’t running well. Because of that, from these survey, the government must be taken some of acts on deradicalization program such as poverty, inequality, bad healthcare system, better education for the masses, etc because those factors certainly count when it comes to stopping radical ideas to spread in this country.

What Next ?

How ever, radicalism, terrorism and sectarian conflicts are the main problem in Indonesia because in these country has a several issues which could be triggered radicalism, terrorism and sectarian conflicts.

Realizing that, the government, informal figure, academia, youth leader, NGO actors and last but not least mass media have a significant contribution to maintaining hate feeling Indonesian’s people to Islamic State. Furthermore, the government and another non state actors such as informal figure, academia, youth leader, NGO actors and last but not least mass media must be done as public teacher who is teach  their public with nationalism, respect on pluralism, positive religious speech and another positive efforts. Because we must alert that there are more people who are getting brainwashed every single day here, by listening to some inadvisable uelama who can only spread hatred against other religions.

For example, the government doesn’t allow the mass organization which spread or to disseminate their hateful agenda. The government must do whatever teach by state’s ideology Pancasila, because just only it could be maintened Indonesia’s integrity until judgement’s day.

Meanwhile, informal figure and youth leader’s have a task to persuade their supporter’s or public to always maintaining the spirit of togetherness and to protecting their neighborhood from negative news or negative teachings. Besides that, to collecting a new comer in their area’s.

Academia must be educated their students about the threat of radicalism, terrorism and sectarian conflict to all of humankind. Academia is always to research the negative impact of terrorism to our nationalism and to cooperating with the government to anticipate it.

The role of NGO’s actor as a government partnership to disseminate positive message to our society about nationalism, togetherness against terrorism, radicalism and the hateful speech.
Last but not least, the significant role’s of mass media is an urgent too because the terrorist group’s also use mass media to promulgating their radical though to our society.

If the mainstream mass media in Indonesia is rejected to publishing the message of terror group’s as for example mass media isn’t over published terror acts as headline news is enough to supporting government and another stakeholder efforts on combating and erasing terrorism, radicalism ad sectarian conflict so that step by step with peace journalism and positive journalism, we can build these country which is a heaven for everyone, because all of us is an essentially love Indonesia. God bless us forever.

Bye-bye terrorism, radicalism and sectarian conflict. We must together say “yes for the unitary of Indonesia and no for terrorism etc” Hopefully.
